How can i tell my parents i got bad midterm grades?

Im a ninth grader and i just got my report card today. I usually get A's B' s and C's. I got 1 c 2 a's and 3 b's...but on the midterms i got 1 F and one D....i dont wanna die so plz tell me a way to tell my parents without the slaughter
