Greetings Texas from me in the state of Louisiana?
I'll like to start off saying first, that the coast of Louisiana and the west side of Texas are in my prayers. I wish each and everyone and safe weekend this week; If you have not yet evacuated, please do so now. About 2 weeks ago, me and my family rode out Hurricane Gustav at our home and we didn't know if we would make it. I'll like to also say, thank-you to everyone who prayed for the state of Louisiana with Hurricane Gustav. This storm is impressive and is affecting the Baton Rouge, LA area, all other surrounding states and cities, and cities in Louisiana. I never seen a storm of this size to impact a state the way Hurricane Ike is predicted to hit as. I wish you and your families the best and know that you're in my prayers. Also, I hope that the state of Florida and the Carolina's are recovering steadily from the storms that have impacted them as well. To give you guys an update with Hurricane Gustav, Louisiana was under a mandatory curfew and many homes are still without power. We're no longer under curfew, but homes are still without power and cable. We're still recovering, but slowly; Which will get better as the days go ahead. Oh yes, some of Louisiana has been evacuated; Like, Cameron Parish, New Orleans, and so on; Especially those living in the bottom part of southeastern Louisiana. We have a wind advisor until 7:00 p.m. tonight. The wind speed is between 20 mph-40 mph here, there has been some showers on and off here, and storm surges have brought tides up espically in the coastal areas of Louisiana.
